'Global
crisis has left another 10 million children
hungry'
International charity Save the Children
Tuesday said an extra 10 million children
are now malnourished because of the global
rise in food prices and asked the G20
leaders to keep them in mind while taking
decisions. An additional 400,000 children
could die by the end of the year as a
result of the global financial collapse.

growth may drop to 4.3% in 2009: OECD
India’s economic growth may slow
to an 18-year low of 4.3% in 2009, with
falling exports offsetting expansion in
domestic demand, the Organization for
Economic Co-operation and Development
(OECD) said in a report. Though the country’s
gross domestic product (GDP) grew at a
meagre 1.3% in 1991-92, and current projection
