The top brands in computer education have been charging exorbitant fees for computer courses which common man cannot afford. It looks like only a few blessed children of God almighty can access to computer education. Mission Literacy (M-Lit) was initiated by Open Forum with the mission to impart quality education at a low-cost format so that millions of students and other people, coming from the underprivileged community, could become computer literate, acquire computer proficiency and train themselves in computers to get desirable careers. Today M-lit helps students in computers education paving their way for successful careers and that too at a price that nobody offers in the industry. M-Lit, a service oriented programme of Open Forum was initiated with the sole view of imparting computer literacy and creating job opportunities for the under privileged. JK Group extended its helping hand for initiating this programme at 2 of the Computer Centers. M-Lit today stands apart from all other institutions for its noble motive and its service to the society. Since its inception, M-Lit has been working towards its goal with the same zeal and enthusiasm and taking up a challenge every year to cover a fixed number of aspirants to be benefited and each time it has crossed much over its expectations. As of date, it has a credit of training more than 325 aspirants through its Authorised Education Centres spread across the Nation, that includes not only students but also housewives, businessmen, employees and almost every sections of the society. Today, most of our students who had selected M-Lit as their platform for putting their first foot forward in the world of Computers are highly placed in reputed organisations in India.

M-Lit is backed by a group of talented and challenge seeking R & D team who is always on the verge of creating innovative ideas to serve the society. Keeping in mind, today’s most demanding sector of the society i.e., the job sector and keeping in view of the institutions that crop up claiming to be creating opportunities, its R & D team has redefined the terminology of Computer Literacy. As the present job scenario demands much more than a mere college degree or a computer diploma, M-Lit’s courses are now focused on its two main objectives, viz.

Anyway, literacy level courses make them one up to others in all respect. M-Lit course platform now has number of job-specific courses that enable students to acquire specialized computer knowledge so that they could get good job openings.

Job-Specific Courses
In the IT job market, there is a lack of trained manpower and that is why the government has decided to train students at very inception levels. M-Lit understands the need for courses that could be industry-standards, meaning that students should be trained in computer courses that are in demand in job market. M-Lit offers Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering, which has a global demand, and in India, there are more jobs in the offer than the manpower available right now. Compared to the industry, M-Lit course fee is very low and syllabus is up to industry standards. Then there is a specialized course in office automation. Office automation course has wide job availability as students trained in office automation are suited for jobs in any automated office environment. We hold on to the vision of better, literate, aware and evolved India and this sea change can be brought about by an exhaustive literary drive, witnessing India riding high on the literary wave will sure be a sight to cherish and we've pledged to provide the glimpse of it to every Indian. Perceiving education as the only tool to evolve mankind at all levels of social existence, we've embarked upon a Literary Mission in India. Since technology is the lifeblood of every modern contemporary society, thus of India too, hence ushers the term Computer Literacy and we are pledged by our vision and principles to turn India into a nation with maximum Computer Literates. Well, that we have at least worked upon principles, is evident from the smile embellishing at least 6,00,000 Indian faces, which obviously stands as a testimony to a decade of our incessant efforts towards the achievement of this goal, which no one else thought of hitherto.

Driving Force
M-Lit was conceptualized by a group of young professionals; in the city of dreams New Delhi. These professionals pursuing computer courses (in other organizations) at that time were charged exorbitantly for the same this stirred up their minds towards a considerable section of society; with a rustic outlook(not so aware) living under economic constraints and termed as weaker and rural; having aspirations and dreams which were hitherto quashed by the economic constraints(fee structure). It was now that these socially driven and enthusiastic young professionals consolidated their abilities together to transform the dreams of this section of society into realities by offering Computer education at just nominal fee; thereby paving an introductory and fundamental path for Computer Literacy Drive in India. At present we command a repute of Pioneer in Computer Literacy charged with the noble cause of social uplift.

The increase in automation is cutting across the industry barriers, thereby compelling companies to look for computer qualification as a minimum skill set in order to effectively manage these changes. However, though there are numerous institutions claiming to be providing Computer Education at a low monthly fee, the quality of education and facilities provided by these institutions does not meet the basic requirements and the classes are conducted just for the sake of conducting them and not with the intention of really doing a service to the society. M-Lit gave a new definition to the terminology of Computer Education. Their intentions behind spreading computer literacy to every nook and corner of the country and making it affordable to all sections of the society, be it rich or poor, received an over whelming response nationwide.

Recently M-Lit has launched “Mass Employment Programme”, “Computer Software Literacy Programme” and “Computer Hardware Literacy Programme”, three new initiatives from the house of Open Forum that has been re-designed exclusively to fulfill the large gap of illiteracy in computers that still prevails in our country. We are sure that these programmes also will be well accepted by the aspirants like our earlier programmes and basically those from financially weaker sections and those belonging to rural areas will benefit the most out of it. We at Open Forum, foresee these programmes to be yet another milestone towards eradicating the problem of Computer illiteracy from our country.
